I had the privilege of working alongside my team members, Aliyah Chavez and Kalle Benallie, to report on Indian Nations and Tribes Legislative Day at the Arizona Capitol. As a Native American, this event was particularly meaningful for me, highlighting important discussions on tribal sovereignty, water rights, and elder services. I enjoyed covering the vibrant atmosphere, from tribal leaders speaking in their languages to Native youth discussing key issues with state lawmakers. It was an honor to share this impactful day with the world, giving a voice to tribal communities and their concerns.

My Thoughts
Storytelling has always been a powerful way for me to connect with my roots, and covering this event at the Arizona Capitol was especially fulfilling. I take great pride in sharing stories that uplift Native communities, bringing awareness to the issues and triumphs that shape our lives. This experience allowed me to create content that not only informs but celebrates the strength, resilience, and culture of Indigenous people. I find deep meaning in using my voice to highlight these important stories and foster understanding between Native and non-Native communities.
